Here’s news from WFOP’s Cathryn Cofell
2018 WFOP POETS’ CALENDAR READING AND HOLIDAY GATHERING
Monday, December 4, 2017
The Draw, 800 S. Lawe Street, Appleton
7 – 8:30 pm
It’s a reading, a book (calendar) launch AND a holiday party – all rolled up in one!
2018 WFOP Poets’ Calendar editors Richard Swanson & Ed Werstein will share their experience as editors and to read a few of their favorite poems from this annual collection (and practical calendar)! We’ve also invited all calendar contributors who either live in Northeast Wisconsin or have frequented our monthly reading. Confirmed readers (for now) are: Emily Bowles, Sylvia Cavanaugh, Louis Clark, Cathryn Cofell, Kathryn Gahl, Sarah Gilbert, Judy Kolosso, Bobbie Lee Lovell, Peggy Turnbull and Betty Winter.
The traditional open mike will follow all these fabulous featured readers – but we encourage you to bring a poem in the theme of the evening: “holiday” or “Wisconsin” or “seasons.”
The bar will be open as usual, but we’ll also be providing coffee and tea and some holiday snacks. Bring a favorite if you’d like!
Last, but not least, bring a book to exchange (better than cookies, any day)! Gift away a favorite book you no longer need, and get a gift of a book from another attendee.
Open to the Public – All are Welcome!
NOTE: There is limited parking in front of the Draw; leave this for those who have difficulty with the longer walk from the larger parking lot which is on E. Newberry, on the south side of the building, across the bridge/lock.
ON DECK FOR 2018:
January NO PROGRAM
Feb 19 Recitation Night – Share your favorite poem by heart!
