Bruce Dethlefsen, Wisconsin Poet Laureate (2011-2012), has three full-length books of poetry published, Breather (Fireweed Press, 2009), Unexpected Shiny Things (Cowfeather Press, 2011), and Small Talk (Little Eagle Press, 2014). Bruce lives in Westfield, WI.
Born and raised in the La Crosse area, Karla Huston has called Appleton home for 28 years. She is the author of seven chapbooks of poetry, most recently Outside of a Dog, (dancing girl press, 2013). Her book, Flight Patterns, won the Main Street Rag chapbook contest in 2003. Her collection A Theory of Lipstick, (Main Street Rag) was released in 2013 and won a Wisconsin Library Association outstanding poetry book award. Ching-In Chen is author of The Heart’s Traffic and co-editor of The Revolution Starts at Home: Confronting Intimate Violence Within Activist Communities. A Kundiman, Lambda and Callaloo Fellow, they are part of Macondo and Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation writing communities, and was a participant in Sharon Bridgforth’s Theatrical Jazz Institute. In Milwaukee, they are cream city review’s editor-in-chief, senior editor of The Conversant, and serve on the board of Woodland Pattern.www.chinginchen.com
Soham Patel’s recent work is up at Banango Street, They Will Sew The Blue Sail, CURA Magazine, and Twelfth House. Her chapbook and nevermind the storm is available from Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs. She is a Kundiman fellow and currently lives in Milwaukee where she is a PhD candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin and a poetry editor at cream city review.
Robert Nordstrom was raised in Toledo, Ohio, After obtaining an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he worked as an editor/writer for various publications for the next 30 years.
His work has been published in numerous publications, including Upstreet, Main Street Rag, The Comstock Review, Naugatuck River Review and others. His book The Sacred Monotony of Breath was published by Prolific Press in 2015.

TUESDAY, JULY 28, GEORGIA RESSMEYER at CARAMEL CRISP, 200 E City Center, Oshkosh at6:15pm, followed by an open mic. A New York native, Georgia has lived happily in Wisconsin since 1974.Twice a winner of grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board, she has published fiction, numerous poems, and a poetry chapbook, Today I Threw My Watch Away (Finishing Line Press), which received a prize from the WFOP. Her full-length poetry collection, Waiting to Sail, was published by Black River Press in 2014.
The reading is located in the game room beyond the cafe portion of the building. Please come early and treat yourself to coffee, dessert or other goodies to enjoy during the reading which begins promptly at 6:15. This will allow us time for a few minutes of visiting before Caramel Crisp closes at 7:30.
