BARBARA GERMIAT AND PETER SHERRILL, Monday, August 21, 2017, The Draw, 800 S. Lawe Street, Appleton, 7 – 8:30 pm, Open mic follows featured readers.
Barbara Germiat spent her childhood on a dairy farm in southeastern Wisconsin, with a mother, father, much older brother and lots of cows, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats, but no daily playmates. She learned to amuse herself. Reading a lot was part of her amusement. Jo March, the “scribbler” of Little Women, fascinated her. She has written for newspapers, UW-Fox Valley Public Information, and poetry. A long-time member of Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, she’s been published often in their Poets’ Calendar and other regional magazines. Recently released, Look, the Silence is her first chapbook.
Peter Sherrill’s poetry has appeared in a variety of state and national publications. He’s won a couple of contests. He never quit the day job to devote himself entirely to writing – and both he and the world are all the better for that decision. He enjoys making all kinds of things, including poetry.
NOTE: There is limited parking in front of the Draw; we’d appreciate you leaving this for those who will have difficulty with the longer walk from the larger parking lot which is on E. Newberry, on the south side of the building, across the bridge/lock.
Please feel free to bring your own nibbles or beverages — wine or beer allowed, plus the usual non-alcoholic drinks!
