Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for input about The Draw poetry series. We’ll be making some small tweaks to how we run each month’s event and will be adding a couple of special collaborative nights. We also plan to create a Facebook group so that we can better promote our great line-up of readers and encourage community among attendees. We welcome suggestions throughout the year! More details soon, but until then, join us for Bobbie Lee & Laura!
BOBBIE LEE LOVELL & LAURA WINKELSPECHT
Monday, November 20, 2017
The Draw, 800 S. Lawe Street, Appleton
7 – 8:30 pm
Open mike follows featured readers. FREE and Open to the Public!
Bobbie Lee Lovell’s book, Proposition at the Walk-In Infinity Chamber, is the product of a personal growth and healing process. These poems are about relationships, decision-making and resilience. Pivotal moments from dating to divorce are infused with ekphrastic (visual art) and speculative (sci-fi/fantasy) elements.
Laura Winkelspecht‘s work has appeared in Clementine Poetry Journal, NEAT, and One Sentence Poems, among others. She recently received Honorable Mention in The Mill’s Janet Dee Wullner-Faiss Memorial Prize for poetry. She is a poet and writer from De Pere, Wisconsin, who writes with the hope of finding some lightning among the lightning bugs. Follow her on Twitter @lwinkelspecht.
There is limited parking in front of the Draw; leave this for those who have difficulty with the longer walk from the larger parking lot which is on E. Newberry, on the south side of the building, across the bridge/lock.
ON DECK:
