Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets’ Cathryn Cofell submitted the following WFOP news:
2019 WFOP POETS’ CALENDAR READING AND HOLIDAY GATHERING
Monday, December 3, 2018
The Draw, 800 S. Lawe Street, Appleton
7 – 8:30 pm
It’s a reading, a book (calendar) launch AND a holiday party – all rolled up in one!
We’ve invited all calendar contributors who live in the WFOP’s Central-Fox Valley region or who have frequented our monthly reading to read their work from the calendar plus a couple of more seasonal pieces. Confirmed readers are: Sharon Auberle, Emily Bowles, Cathryn Cofell, Kathryn Gahl, Barb Germiat, MaryAnn Hurtt, Mandi Isaacson, Judy Kolosso, Estella Lauter, Bobbie Lee Lovell, Frankie Mengeling, Ralph Murre, Carol Pemrich Hauser, Nancy Rafal, Kay Sanders, Tori Grant Welhouse and Betty Winter.
The traditional open mike will follow all these fabulous featured readers – but we encourage you to bring a poem in the theme of the evening: “holiday” or “Wisconsin” or “seasons.”
The bar will be open as usual, but we’ll also be providing coffee and tea and some holiday snacks. Bring a favorite if you’d like!
Last, but not least, bring a book to exchange (better than cookies, any day)! Gift away a favorite book you no longer need, and get a gift of a book from another attendee.
Open to the Public – All are Welcome!
ON DECK IN 2019:
We are moving to the SECOND MONDAY of each month, starting with our Recitation Night on February 11. Start memorizing a favorite poem (not your own) to share on February 11 by heart! If you’re interested in participating, let me know! Stay tuned for news of featured readers and other fun events for the rest of the year. If there’s a regional poet you are dying to hear (who doesn’t charge a fee), let us know!
