Poison by Bridget Zinn, published by Hyperion and just out yesterday, might more aptly be named Bridget Zinn’s Legacy.
Bridget, who grew up in Wisconsin, moved with her husband Barrett Dowell to Portland, Oregon, not long before she passed on from this earthly reality at the unconscionably young age of 33. Here’s a link to her website: http://www.bridgetzinn.com, which has links to early reviews of Poison http://www.bridgetzinn.com/index.php#poisonreviews, including this from Kirkus Reviews:
“Don’t let the title or cover fool you! No grimdark teen fantasy or angst-y heroines here; just a frothy confection of a fairy tale featuring poisoners, princesses, perfumers and pigs, none of whom are exactly what they appear (except maybe the pigs)…. Good silly fun—a refreshing antidote to a genre overflowing with grit and gloom.”
Bridget’s friends and family and the young readers who will share her fun and fabulously imaginative world in Poison thank her for this gift she left behind.
