Five Wisconsinites are among nine winners of Wisconsin Public Radio’s ‘Wisconsin Life’ Ghost Story Flash Fiction Contest.
They are (drum roll):
- Andrew McDonnell, Beaver Dam WI — “Curtain Call
- Darlene Rickert, Green Bay WI — “The Rusted Bell”
- Jonathan Blyth, Bloomer WI — “You Are What You Eat”
- Eric Van Vleet, Marinette WI — “Presidential Phantasm”
- John Pigeon, Green Bay WI — “For Better or For Worse
Wisconsin native and best-selling fantasy writer Patrick Rothfuss judged the more than 650 entries, which were ghost stories in 600 words or less.
WPR’s Veronica Rueckert will host a program at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 featuring Rothfuss and the contest. WPR and the 9XM Players have produced the winning entries for broadcast.
