Mineral Point, Wisc. – National speakers, workshops and 50 authors from Wisconsin and neighboring states will be part of the second annual Southwest Wisconsin Book Festival on November 24, 2012,

The 2012 event begins with eight morning workshops held at the Mineral Point Public Library. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done at www.swwibookfestival.com. The cost per workshop is $5.

Turning Your Journals Into a Book. Presenter: Julie Tallard Johnson
Editors and Reviewers: How to Wow Them. Presenter: Karyn Saemann

A New Era for Novelists and Screenwriters. Presenter: Peggy Williams
Living the Creativity Dream. Presenters: Lisa Kivirist and John Ivanko

A Guide to Children’s Book Illustration. Presenter: Jeremy Provost
The day continues with a free book signing and reading event held at the Quality Inn in Mineral Point from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The book signing will showcase a wide range of book genres including children’s books, fiction, non-fiction, poetry and short stories. Several authors will also present readings.
The Southwest Wisconsin Book Festival concludes with an evening keynote presentation at 7:00 p.m. by national speakers John Ivanko and Lisa Kivirist at the historic Mineral Point Opera House. Ivanko and Kivirist will share how they have launched successful writing and other creative pursuits by navigating around traditional career rules while leveraging diversification and cross-pollination with others.
