Council for Wisconsin Writers Board Member and recently named Wisconsin Poet Laureate Karla Huston graces the cover of the current issue (Winter 2017) of Wisconsin People & Ideas magazine.
Inside is an excellent — and informative — feature story about her, which includes a couple of her poems. CWW hopes all writers and supporters of Wisconsin’s literary community will read the article and take advantage of this great opportunity to get to know this fine poet and wonderful person.
See Karla Huston’s bio at http://wiswriters.org/about/board-of-directors/.

Here’s something writers in Wisconsin might want to check out — Rex Owens‘ radio program, “Conversations with Wisconsin Artists” on Sun Prairies’ KSUN community station.
This is a “Conversations with Wisconsin Artists” Facebook description of the program:
“An hour of conversation with Wisconsin artists including: Writers, playwrights, screenwriters, publishers, editors, musicians, composers, performers, teachers and actors. The goal is to provide listeners with a way to deepen their appreciation for local arts by joining in a conversation with Wisconsin artists.”
And this is the link to a post mystery writer Danielle Grandinetti published on her blog “Danielle’s Writing Spot“.
Danielle learned about Rex and his radio program from her sister mystery writer Christine DeSmet, who lives in Door County and whose mysteries feature ” fudge or fowl (two different series). I mix in fun, little-known facts, recipes about fudge, a bit about Belgians and the culture of Wisconsin and the Door County Peninsula.” Christine writes on her website.
Anyone interested in contacting Rex Owens about being on his program can do so via this form on his website.
