Former Wisconsin resident Sheri Sinykin announces great long-awaited news about the publication of her picture book, Zayde Comes To Live. Here's her announcement: Those of you who known me for years and years, may celebrate Patience as my first picture book, ZAYDE COMES TO LIVE (illustrated by Kristina Swarner, Peachtree) launches today, eight years after going to contract. I met my then editor at the 2003 fall retreat in Racine. When Rachel’s beloved grandfather comes to live with her family because he is dying, she worries where he will “go,” especially after Megan says he will go to Heaven if he believes in Jesus and Hakim tells her he will go to Paradise if he believes in Allah. I am introducing this book to adults, rather than to children, with a Power Point presentation: “GOOD GRIEF: How to Talk to Your Child about Death.” Sheri, who moved to Massachusetts a couple of years ago, says she has several events scheduled in New England and adds a special thanks "to so many of you for holding my hand all these years, when publication seemed like a distant dream.
